40 is the new 20

And 6 is the new 12.  Seems like there is a time lapse happening in the world.  A couple of things have happened recently that blow my mind:

1.  My nanny said that I am a mother figure to her.  (I'm going to pretend that it's because I have 7 children, not because I'm old.. When in fact, I'm less than the new 20!)
2.  My 6 year old daughters' snap chatted me.
3.  One of my six year old daughters asked me this morning, "Can I just give you a hug?"  This is instead of our 'kissy code' that we do everyday. :(

How are you?

People tend to ask that question a lot.  I ask people.  They ask me. It's cordial.  It's nice.

What if I were to really tell someone how I am?

My response would be something like, "Well.  I'm good.  I mean, my husband got into an altercation with his ex-wife's husband the other night and we spent most of the evening on the phone with the sheriff.  The kids had a really rough time with it. But then we went to my husbands mom's house and had a birthday party for one of the cousins (there have been 9 cousins that have visited over the last month).  So the night was okay.  Also, I think our deal on our new house is going to go through.  We should be able to move in soon, although this is very risky because if our deal doesn't go through we could lose this house too.  Also, one of the kids was sick today but when I got home, she was jumping on the trampoline. :(  Work is going well, although I am very busy.  We finally got our money back from the house deal that went south so it's nice that I can pay taxes...Blah.  Oh yeah, what about the inspector that didn't show up last week when he was supposed to and came unannounced last night?  That was good.  Also, there's laundry that's been sitting in the washer for the last 3 days.  And, I forgot to mention that my leg is still really sore and itchy from shingles.  I feel better, thank you, but I'm still super tired."

I think I should just leave it at, "I'm good, how are you?"  :)

Should I go private?

I've been debating on whether or not I should go private.  It's not like I have a huge readership, but I feel like I'm too transparent.  I'm one of those people that love to look into other people's windows in the evening time to see what they are doing!  (Stalker!)  BUT, I always close my curtains because I can't stand the thought of anyone lurking and watching me!

Plus, to really put down my thoughts, I feel very vulnerable.

So... Be prepared.  Next time you stop in, you may get a message saying "this blog is private."

Oh dang.

Stupid mobile blogging. I lost a whole bunch of great info.

Man, I am on fire.

I am mobile blogging.

That's right! That's what makes me on fire right now.

For real?

I seriously had one  post in 2015?!  ONE Post?!  My goodness.  How could I have let this happen? (rhetorical.) :)

Life's busy, but I really want to try to capture some moments like I used to.  Otherwise, it seems my memory fails me more and more!

Just the other day, I went to the school because Maddie was having a coughing fit.  I left work and stopped to get her some cough drops.  As I arrived at the school, she was sitting in the office working on her school work.  I sat down with her and our conversation went like this:

Me: Hi baby, have a cough drop.  What are you working on.
Her: (being too cool, already at the age of six to be rattled by her mom's presence) School work.
Me:  Oh, that's good.
Her: I better get back to class
Me: Wait!  Don't you want to sit with me for a minute? It's not everyday your mom comes to the school.  Maybe I can go visit Mickie too...She'd probably be pretty sad if she knew I was here and I didn't say hi.
Her:  Mom, I'll tell you you said hi.  You can't go in there because she's learning!
Me: (paused and taken aback, smiling)
Her: What's a seven look like
Me: I make a seven in the air.
Her: thanks. I need to go back to class now!
Me: (as she's walking away) I love you!
Her: (turns around and blows me a kiss!)

It was a very precious interaction, although brief.
